Below are bios for the people responsible for making Team Stimble successful.
Donald Stimble, Junior Golfer

Donald StimbleDonald R. Stimble II was born in the spring of 1995, when his father was a commercial pilot for a commuter airline and his mother was an airport station manager. He was still a babe in arms when his parents purchased a business on Table Rock Lake and moved to the Shell Knob area. He shares his life at the family farm with three younger siblings - Mattie, Patrick and Nicholas and the family pet dogs Woofer, Cinnamon and Pooch. All the youngsters are home schooled by Mom at their very own schoolhouse on the property. He has a putting green near the schoolhouse and uses the pasture as a driving range. Sometimes, Donald has to watch television by himself because not everybody wants to watch the Golf Channel all the time. The family attends Holy Family Catholic Church where Donald and his siblings are acolytes.

Around the age of eight, his father first introduced him to golf by taking him to the driving range to hit balls and mess around for fun. While playing games to challenge himself, he eventually began hitting the ball straight and far.

Donald entered his first local Drive, Chip and Putt Contest in June 2005 at what was then the Cedar Creek Golf Course in Shell Knob, MO. This was his first taste of competition and winning. After winning first place in putting, finishing second overall and winning the Shirley Shay Sportsmanship Scholarship, he had the opportunity to go to Springfield, Missouri and enter a Drive, Chip and Putt Contest and golf workshop at Rivercut Golf Course. It was here that Donald truely got hooked on golf. It has become an all consuming love.  It was here that Donald met golf instructor Rick Grayson for the first time and began taking lessons.

Coach Rick taught Donald different golfing strategies and golf shots while perfecting his swing. Coach Rick was instrumental in helping Donald to discover different paths to enhance his golf through leagues, finding proper equipment and tools. Over the years Donald has developed a strong connection, lasting friendship and deep respect for Coach Rick.

The next summer Donald entered tournaments through the Southern Missouri Junior Golf Association (SMJGA) in Springfield, MO. Here he began learning different golfing strategies, golf shots, rules of the game, sportsmanship, etiquette and discipline on the golf course. He also got to experience lots of different golf courses all over southern Missouri from Rivercut and Highland Springs Country Club to private and public course in Republic and Willard, MO.  Adding the U.S. Kids Golf Tournaments the following summer allowed Donald to compete with golfers from surrounding states and eventually led to playing in World Championships where he competed against golfers from all over the world.

He is involved in every aspect of golf including fitness, where he pays attention not only to strength, but also to balance and flexibility. In the summer of 2007, Donald was introduced to personal trainer, Jeremy Mhire. Three days a week he began working out with Jeremy and pulling from his knowledge on muscle confusion, flexibility, balance and how to avoid/prevent sport related injuries.

In the fall of 2010, Donald was introduced to sports massage therapist, Fred Engel. Twice a month he meets with Fred at Positive Touch for intense stretching. He also learns stretching technics to do at home to help activate all of his muscles and reach the maximum flexibility involved in his golf swing.

During the fall of 2011, Donald was introduced to golf instructor Chuck Cook and started working on perfecting a new golf swing.  Coach Cook recommended that Donald should begin working with Janine Young at Elite Golf and Fitness in Kansas City to target golf specific fitness training.  Beginning the January 2012; Donald, Coach Cook and Janine began working together on the process of building a more balanced, flexible and stronger swing. Donald looks forward to seeing what the 2012 season will bring.

Donald has found lots of success and received many awards during his years of golfing including 2008 SMJGA Tournament Champion and SMJGA 2008 Low Score Champion (Rivercut 73), 2007, 2010 and 2011 MGA Missouri Jr. Amateur Champion, 2010 AJGA Scissortail Jr. Champion, three time AJGA-Final Round Low Score recipient and AJGA- Bridgestone Pole Position recipient.

Donald attributes the success that he has had to his current coach Chuck Cook, former coach Rick Grayson, his trainer Jeremy Mhire,  Sports Massage Therapist Fred Engel and to his parents. He also receives loads of support from the men's golf group at King's River Golf Course near Shell Knob. It's here that Donald has watched and learned respect. More importantly, he has seen how relaxed and fun golf is outside of tournament play while playing with these fun gentlemen of his community.

Donald shares his interest in golf with his youngest brother, Nicholas, who is currently using his brother's hand-me-down golf clubs. He may be using hand-me-down clubs, but Donald has taught him everything he knows, so watch out for Nicholas. He's a comer.

Currently, Donald plays on the Missouri Golf Association (MGA), American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and other national junior golf events. These leagues allow him to play against local golfers as well as golfers from all over the U.S. and world.  These tournaments range from playing with golfers his same age to competing with college level golfers and older.

Donald has a true passion for the game of golf and can't wait to see where the next few years will take him.

Chuck Cook, Golf Instructor (Chuck Cook Golf Academy)Chuck Cook
Austin, Texas

Chuck has been teaching golf for over 25 years and is known as the "teacher's teacher".  He started out as a range assistant in the earliest carnation of the Golf Digest Schools, having been blessed to have studied under the finest teaching professionals in the game like Bob Toski, Jim Flick, Peter Kostis and Davis Love Jr.   Within two years, Chuck had worked his way up to an instructor's position at the Schools, giving momentum to a career that includes teaching four U.S. Open Champions including; Payne Stewart (1991 & 1999), Tom Kite (1992) and Corey Pavin (1995).

Chuck's philosophy about teaching is simple, he doesn't think there is a universal best way to swing the club.  Rather, everyone has his or her own "unique" way of swinging that club.

&nMy experience training with Donald has been phenomenal! The first thing I noticed when we began working together was Donald's great work ethic. Don was 12 at the time and already had great physical awareness and body control. As we began to reinforce his balance, flexibility, and neuromuscular control, Donald increased his overall strength. Don's coachability, work ethic, and God-given athleticism have made him a force to reckon with on the golf course! It's extremely rewarding to see his continued progress.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for this tremendously gifted golfer!  Keep it up, Don!

Fred Engel, Sports Massage Therapist (Positive Touch) Fred Engel

As a Board Certified and Licensed Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork therapist, I have traveled both in and outside of the USA learning from the best sports massage and orthopedic massage therapists available. I use this knowledge to improve the form and function of the human body.  Each person is unique in their needs, and by doing thorough assessments and applying various treatment modalities such as Active Isolated Stretching, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and self-help suggestions, I can help them affect positive changes to their bodies.

The most outstanding attribute that I have observed in Don is that he is extremely focused.  He knows what he wants and is confident that he will get it.  He is open to suggestions for improvement and is willing to do what it takes to make those improvements happen.  He is truly a pleasure to work with.

I have worked with several pro golfers, and Don's professionalism matches any I have experienced.
